Easy Homemade Almond Milk

Almond milk along with other dairy free alternatives continue to grow in popularity, however, most store bought dairy free milks have extra additives like thickeners and preservatives, which, personally I think are going to catch up with us and prove to be harmful to our bodies.

To me, the more natural and pure the better, so I suggest making your own dairy free milk or possibly even cows milk with no additives would be more pure than added thickeners and preservatives.

That being said, making your own almond milk is honestly so easy, quick, cost effective, healthier, and tastes SO much better than store bought!

Trust me once you start making homemade almond milk you won't go back to store bought!

I n g r e d i e n t s

1 cup raw almonds soaked

3 cups filtered water

1-2 small pitted dates

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

a few dashes of cinnamon

1 nut bag or cheese cloth

D i r e c t i o n s

Soak almonds overnight and cover with water as much as needed to cover all almonds and keep in fridge overnight. I use a mason jar.

Add soaked almonds, filtered water, dates, vanilla and cinnamon to high powered blender and blend until smooth.

Using a nut bag or a cheese cloth over a medium sized bowl, pour blended milk through bag and using your hands squeeze the milk through bag to strain out all of the pulp. I usually do this in about 3 sections so that the bag isn't super full, disgard pulp between sections. You can keep the pulp and use it to make crackers, put in smoothies, make cupcakes etc. Scrounge recipes coming soon!

Once all of the milk has been strained pour into glass container with lid and store in fridge for 7-10 days.

Enjoy the best almond milk EVER!
