These energy bites are truly the best snack and do provide a nice boost of energy!

These are my version of a homemade protein bar. If you don’t know by now, I love protein bars but as I’ve said before, you have to be careful with which ones you choose to eat because they aren’t all healthy. These energy balls are great because they’re homemade so you know exactly what ingredients you’re putting into your body.

These are also so easy to travel with, so when you're on the move and need a healthy snack, take these babies with you. Not to mention these will take you less than 10 mins to make. I hope you enjoy!

If you don't have these exact ingredients, Scrounge with the things you have at home, you may create something even better!
If you don't have chia seeds, use hemp seeds or do without
If you don't 'have coffee or chocolate protein powder, use vanilla or unflavored protein powder and add 100% pure cocoa powder if you want more of a chocolate flavor
If you don't have honey, use maple syrup
If you don't have cacao nibs, use mini chocolate chips

*makes 12-15 bites
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 serving of protein powder, I use THIS ONE
1/2 cup almond butter or peanut butter
1/3 cup pure maple syrup or honey
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp hemp seeds
2 tbsp cocoa nibs or mini dark chocolate chips (or as many as you want)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
D i r e c t i o n s
Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl minus the chocolate chips or cacao nibs mix together with hand mixer or can do by hand with spatula, i recommend with hand mixer.
Using a spatula mix in cacao nibs or chocolate chips.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour
This makes it easier to roll into balls, but if you don't have time to refrigerate you can try making balls without doing this step
Roll into balls.
Store in refrigerator.
