This toast is a great high protein, low fat, morning breakfast or snack! Ricotta is a low calorie, high protein, low fat cheese, similar to cottage cheese, so for any of you cheese lovers like me, it’s a great healthier option! I had some raspberries that I needed to use up in my fridge and I had bought ricotta cheese on a whim (it’s not on my typical grocery list), so I decided to create a new toast combo. The pairing of the ricotta with the raspberries, chocolate, nuts and honey, gives this toast a savory, sweet and refreshing taste! It's the perfect summer toast :)
Ingredients (1 piece of toast):
1 slice of Food for Life Ezekiel Bread
2 tbsp whole fat ricotta cheese
Approx 4-5 raspberries
1/4 tsp Lilly's dairy free (no sugar added) dark chocolate chips
1/4 tsp Sliced slmonds
1/8 tsp Sunflower seeds
1 tsp honey
Preparation:
Toast 1 slice of bread in toaster
Spread ricotta cheese on toast
Smash raspberries on top of ricotta
Sprinkle almonds and sunflower seeds
Drizzle honey
