CWTy #3: Classic Dirty Martini

One of the best things about a classic martini? Easiest cocktail ever! Combine vodka with 4:1 ratio to vermouth in a glass with ice and stir. Pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish...done! Its clean ingredients also make it one of the healthiest cocktails you can drink.

In this edition of Cocktails with Ty we made a classic dirty martini. This is one of Ty's favorite cocktails, but for me, it's only been over the past year that I've grown to really enjoy it. I swear my taste buds continue to change, so now I don't like any sweetness in my cocktails, which is why I love the briny and saltiness of a dirty martini and how clean and pure it is.

We hope you enjoy this classic, clean cocktail as much as we do. Not that you know it's one of the cleanier, healthier, and not to mention easier cocktails to make, maybe you'll consider making or ordering a dirty martini next time you're deciding on what to drink!

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 oz. Gin or vodka

  • .25 or .5 oz Dry vermouth

  • .5 oz olive juice or more if you want it dirtier

  • Ice

  • Blue cheese olives

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing glass or shaker, combine vodka or gin, dry vermouth, olive juice and ice.

  2. Stir or shake in shaker

  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass

  4. Garnish with 2 olives - blue cheese stuffed olives are the best :)

The Scrounge:

If you don't have these exact ingredients, Scrounge with the things you have at home! For example, if you don't 'have vodka – use gin or vice versa. If you don't have green olive juice –do without or  use any type of olive juice.  If you don't have dry vermouth or olive juice –  use simple syrup and lemon juice to make a lemon martini.  You may create something even better!
