As I was making my homemade almond milk one day I thought to myself “I wonder if I can make homemade almond butter too”. I had some doubts if it were possible to actually make at home but turns out it is and, bonus, it’s super easy! I’ll just be adding this to my list of foods I’ll be making at home now instead of buying from the store.

If you don't have these exact ingredients, Scrounge with the things you have at home and you may create something even better!
If you don't have almonds, try cashews (I have not tried this myself yet so Scrounge at your own risk! I'm just not sure what happens when you roast cashews, but have fun Scrounging!)
If you don't have honey, use agave or maple syrup
If you don't have sea salt, use Himalayan salt or do without
I n g r e d i e n t s
4 cups raw almonds
1 tsp raw honey
A pinch of sea salt
D i r e c t i o n s
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
On a parchment lined baking sheet, spread
Roast almonds for 13 minutes.
Let almonds cool at room temperature for approximately 15 minutes or until cool.
Add almonds to Vitamix (Personally I’ve only made this with the Vitamix but it may work with other high powered blenders too)
Using a tamper, slowly increase speed and push down on the almonds for about 2 mins. Once all the almonds start to look blended slowly decrease the speed.
Add sea salt and honey and blend with tamper again for about 10-15 seconds. This is optional but recommend, the sweet and salty combo adds a nice touch to this creamy nut butter.
Store in a glass jar in the fridge.
