Scrounge Energy Bites (gluten-free)

These energy bites are truly the best snack and do provide a nice boost of energy!

These are my version of a homemade protein bar. If you don’t know by now, I love protein bars but as I’ve said before, you have to be careful with which ones you choose to eat because they aren’t all healthy. These energy balls are great because they’re homemade so you know exactly what ingredients you’re putting into your body.


These are also so easy to travel with, so when you're on the move and need a healthy snack, take these babies with you. Not to mention they take less than 10 minutes to make.

If you don't have these exact ingredients, Scrounge with the things you have at home and you may create something even better!

  • If you don't have plant based protein powder, use whatever protein powder you have

  • If you don't have honey, use agave or maple syrup

  • If you don't have cacao nibs, use chocolate chips

  • If you don't have chia seeds, use hemp seeds or do without


I n g r e d i e n t s

*makes 12-15 bites

1/4 cup oats

2 scoops plant based protein powder

1/2 cup almond butter or peanut butter

1/3 cup honey

1 tbsp. chia seeds

2 tbsp cocoa nibs

1/4 tsp. cinnamon


D i r e c t i o n s

Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix together .


Refrigerate for 1 hour. This makes it easier to roll into balls, but if you don't have time to refrigerate you can try making balls without doing this step.


Roll into balls.

Store in refrigerator.
